Paris Saint-Germain’s recent match against AS Monaco saw a head-scratching decision from manager Luis Enrique. Now, Enrique has finally addressed the controversial decision, offering some insight into his thought process.

“I have been in football for quite a long time,” Enrique stated, “you must know that everything is important in this kind of club. Sooner or later, we will play without Mbappé, so I am looking for the best option for the team. We have to get used to that.”

Enrique’s explanation suggests a long-term vision, emphasizing the need for the team to function effectively even in Mbappé’s absence. He highlights the importance of preparing the team for various scenarios, including potential future transfers or injuries.

Luis Enrique insisted that he has no problems with Mbappé since he subbed him off early against Monaco. Enrique said, “Taking Mbappé off? Sooner or later we will have to play without Kylian, so I try to find the best option for the team, what I think is best for the team. Is this related to his departure? I repeat, sooner or later he won’t play with us anymore. We have to get used to it. I’m going to do what I think is best for the team. I don’t want to argue. It’s my decision.”
